About Nicky

Nicky Watts was born in 1982 in Worcester, Massachusetts. She attended Fisher College and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago for fashion design and finished her education at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BFA in Art Education.

Her early work consisted of portraits of emerging artists, performers and comedians. In 2006, Watts participated in an anthropological research study in Guatemala and produced an internationally exhibited collection of photographs documenting Guatemala life while conceptually analyzing the difficulty with misconception within photographs taking of foreign cultures.

During her attendance at UIC, Watts organized seventeen art exhibitions and presented her work in fourteen shows, nationally. Watts has been known for using fashion, photography, painting, sculpture and performance at any giving time in her artwork.

She is currently owner and president of Nicky Watts Studios working on a multi-medium series entitled “Wear Recycle.”

doesn't seem to fear criticism, adversity or the unknown. She is kind, loyal, non-judgmental, and real. She looks outside the box and can always bring a new depth and perspective to things. She is always fun to be around even in times of trouble.
