The Carol Tapes

1976 (Carol Portion) - December 2012

The Carol Tapes are a collaboration between Jacob and Jesse Smigel, a woman named Carol who has no idea she’s part of this collaboration, and myself. It’s a story of a college student in the 70s. Jacob found what appears to be Carol's audio journals in a salvation army. Jesse conceptualizes the motion to bring Carol into a visual presentation, using current media to represent this past character. I became Carol for over two years, studying the energy and meaning to the words she speaks so I could interpret that into film. Adam Cope took the Carol photos that you see on this site. Stay tuned for the release information for The Carol Tapes.
